USI gets party for anti-smoking stance

Going smoke free is netting University of Southern Indiana a commendation from the American Cancer Society. A presentation will be made during an 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cancer Action Network-sponsored rally on Tuesday, September 20 at the outdoor amphitheatre near the University Center.

More than 75 offerings in the categories of academic enrichment, arts, fitness and recreation, family, leisure, and personal development are available.

Brice's ATA Martial Arts in Evansville has announced plans for a community Bullying Prevention Seminar scheduled for this Sunday. The seminar is part of ATA Martial Arts’ world-wide initiative to help educate communities in preventing bullying behavior.

USI: Allow extra time to get to campus

With lane restrictions on the Lloyd Expressway, students, faculty, staff, and visitors who drive to the University of Southern Indiana via the Lloyd should allow ample time to reach their campus destination. Lane restrictions begin at St. Joseph Avenue and continue west past USI.

Patent issued to engineering professor is first for USI

University of Southern Indiana President Linda L. M. Bennett has announced the issuance on August 2 of U.S. Patent No. 7,991,351 which relates to improved technology for access between wired and wireless networks. The patent is the first issued to a faculty member working with USI’s Center for Applied Research.
