Google Street View car mapping Evansville

Google Street View car mapping Evansville

If you've noticed a funny little car with a big pole and what looks like a camera of some sort on the top, you've found a Google Street View car.  It's taking fresh pictures of streets in the Evansville area (and the houses and businesses along them) for use in the Google Street View portion of Google Maps.

Street View first became available in 2007 and is now available in many cities across 35 countries. As you know, Street View imagery of much of Evansville is already available on Google Maps, but updating the imagery is something the company does from time to time as part of its effort to provide users with the richest, most up-to-date maps possible.

Google also has steps you can take if you, for some reason, don't want you or your house to be visible on their maps.

Officials believe that many factors, including the unseasonable warm weather, Orchid Escape, and spring breaks have helped Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden achieve the highest January, February, and March attendance in Zoo history.

During the course of January, 2,699 guests visited the Zoo, February attendance was a record breaking 6,342 visitors, and March boasted 27,612 visitors.

In comparison, these numbers topped the previous January record by 26%, February record by 9% and March record by 59%.
