EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden reports the recent death of their cheetah
Amos Morris, Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden Executive Director states, "It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our cheetah. Her exact cause of death has yet to be determined and is pending the pathology report. We have not made a decision to replace her pending the results of the necropsy report and other animal collection needs around the zoo."
According to Dr.Sue Lindsey, Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden's Animal Curator there are approximately 280 cheetahs in captivity within 53 AZA institutions.
Evansville's Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is open 365 days a year from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
