Wall That Heals coming to town next week; traveling replica of Vietnam Memorial | Events

Rolling Thunder Indiana Chapter 6 is bringing The Wall That Heals to Evansville, Indiana September 1 through September 5 in the Westside Library Park at the corner or Wabash Avenue and Franklin Street.
The Wall That Heals is the only traveling replica that features a traveling museum that displays photos of service members whose names are found on The Wall, letters left at the Memorial, and memorabilia.
The display will be open 24 hours a day and the public is encouraged to visit and attend the memorial ceremonies being held in honor of those listed on The Wall.
Events scheduled during the display include:
8/31 9:00 a.m. - Escort of The Wall into Evansville by Rolling Thunder and the general public. The caravan will begin at 10:00 a.m. SHARP and travel from the Holiday Inn Express North (behind Denny’s on Highway 41, just South of I-64), travel south on Highway 41 to Lloyd Expressway, then west on Lloyd Expressway, and finally north on Wabash Avenue to the Westside Library Park, site of the display. At the corner of Lloyd Expressway and Wabash Avenue, a ladder truck from the Evansville Fire Department will be on hand to welcome The Wall in a show of community support for its important mission. Immediately following the arrival at the park, Wall staff members along with Vietnam Veterans and members of Rolling Thunder will be available for interviews and questions.
9/1 8:00 a.m. - Wall set up (Rolling Thunder members only.)
9/2 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Visits by area students.
6:30 p.m. - Official opening ceremonies, presentation of the Missing Man Table, lying of wreaths.
9/3 6:30 p.m. - Candlelight memorial service presented by Rolling Thunder Indiana Chapter 6 in honor of those on the wall as well as those soldiers still listed as POW and MIA. Service will include presentation of Missing Man Table, lying of wreaths and lighting of candles in memory of those from Vanderburgh County that are listed on the Wall.
9/4 2:00 p.m. - Memorial service and presentation of the Missing Man Table.
9/5 6:30 p.m. - Official closing ceremonies, 21 gun salute
The public is invited to attend all events, with the exception of set up.
