EPD: Meth labs found at west side apartment

Three people are arrested at an Evansville apartment after police find a meth lab.

Police were called to the 2100 block of W. Indiana Street to investigate a meth-making smell in the area.

Police say isolated the aroma to the upstairs apartment of the divided house.

Officers say their knocks were answered with a lot of shuffling inside.

Officers decided to kick the door in, which was barricaded shut.

A 47-year-old man is in jail after Evansville Police say they found six one-pot meth labs and meth making items inside his home in the 1100 block of Fountain Ave.

Meth materials found near Ellis Park

Some meth making items found on a Vanderburgh County walking trail Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say a group of walkers in the Eagle Slough Natural Area, north of Ellis Park, ran across the items.

The actual meth lab was not found. Authorities are investigating.

Three children are taken to child protective services after being found near a one pot meth lab.

Police say the meth lab was discovered early Wednesday morning on an upstairs floor at a house on Columbia Street after they received a tip about a suspicious smell.

Police served a search warrant at the residence.

According to police, there were needles littering the floor along with meth making materials.

Police arrested Misty Voyles, 28, Christopher Dann, 33, Chad Adams, 24 and Patrick Smith, 48.

EPD find four meth labs in 24 hours

Evansville police have their hands full after investigating several meth incidents just hours apart.

Police say there have been four meth-related incidents in less than 24 hours.

The most recent happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Delaware Street.

Police say they received a tip that people who live there were shopping for pseudoephedrine.

Police watched both front and back door and saw a woman putting trash out.

Crackdown on impaired drivers launches Friday

Drive sober or get pulled over. That’s the message to area drivers this week as Indiana law enforcement begins its annual impaired driving crackdown.

Beginning Friday, more than 260 state and local law enforcement agencies will take part in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign by stepping up their efforts to detect and arrest impaired drivers.

Abandoned warehouse fire called arson

Investigators say a fire at an abandoned west side warehouse was intentionally set.

Crews were called to 1401 Park St. on Sunday.  Building materails were set on fire after someone entered through an unlocked door. 

The fire was quickly extinguished.
