Two arrested for dealing meth on Harmony Way

Two people have been arrested after detectives from the Evansville Police Department detected a chemical odor coming from a west side home Monday afternoon.

Police say they obtained a search warrant and discovered one pot meth labs and other items indicative of manufacturing meth inside the home in the 800 block of Harmony Way.

Charles W. Brendel, 46, and 33-year-old Wendi M. Rickard were arrested.  They're in the Vanderburgh County Detention Center without bond on charges of dealing meth.

Two men have been arrested after Evansville Police say they found a meth lab in a garage at 1302 Cumberland Avenue.

Police say officers were dispatched to the area of Barker and Broadway around 8:30 Thursday night for a fight in progress.  Officers located a victim who told them he'd been hit with a baseball bat by a man who took off in a vehicle.  After officers found it, they got out on foot to look for a suspect and that's where they found the meth lab.

47-year-old Leroy Richard Green and 45-year-old David Eugene Webster are facing meth dealing charges.

On Sunday, October 21, the Public Library Friends will host Dr. David Glassman at Central Library.  Dr. Glassman - an anthropologist, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bradley University, and former dean of the College of Liberal Arts at USI - will speak about forensic anthropology and talk about some of the most unusual cases he has been involved with. 

Dr. Glassman’s presentation will begin at 2:00 pm in the Browning Events Room and is free and open to all.

Apollo Liquors robbed

An armed robber got away with cash and some booze late Thursday night.

Police say it happened just before midnight at Apollo Liquors on West Maryland Street.

A man walked in with a gun and demanded money from the clerk. Officers say he ran away with cash and a bottle of alcohol.

Police searched for the suspect in the area but could not find him.

Burned out headlight bulb leads to meth arrest

A non-working headlight led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Evansville woman on meth dealing charges. 

Police stopped Angela Louise Miller at Sixth and Columbia just before midnight.  They discovered the north side woman's driver's license had been suspended and during an inventory of the car just prior to towing, officers say they found several baggies of meth and other paraphernalia commonly used to ingest narcotics inside her purse.

She's in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Woman faces jail time for multiple meth arrests

A 34-year-old Evansville woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant Saturday night and officers say they found meth during a search for her vehicle.

Late Saturday night, Evansville Police say Lisa McRoy was stopped for a traffic infraction near Broadway and Ewing. According to officers, a search of McRoy and her vehicle uncovered "many items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine" as well as 5.2 grams of finished meth.

EPD:  Shoplifter gets physical, runs from Walmart

A loss prevention officer at the west side Walmart says a shoplifting suspect became physically and verbally abusive Tuesday morning, then ran from the store.

Police were called to the Red Bank Road store after the officer saw a man put items in a shopping cart, then leave without paying.  He was stopped outside the store and brought back inside where the security officer says he became "verbally abusive and uncooperative".
