A 25-year-old Evansville man is in jail after an Evansville cab driver says he stiffed him for a $25 fee.
Evansville Police say two men had a $25 fare after riding from the east side to the west side late Tuesday afternoon. Police say the men were trying to buy marijuana from another person near the intersection of Maryland and Fulton and refused to pay for the services of the 27-year-old Unity Taxi driver.
James Ipock was located at West Columbia and N. 4th Avenue. He was arrested and confessed, according to police. He’s currently facing theft charges and is in the Vanderburgh County Detention Center.
There was no word on the whereabouts of the second suspect.
