Nut Club contributions | Community Spirit
The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is coming up October 1-6. While the festival offers food and fun, the club's real business is giving its proceeds back to the community.
The organization has handed out over $187,000 so far in 2012, over half of that to schools including $44,000 to Mater Dei and Reitz High Schools, $32,000 to public and private schools and $14,000 to the other area high schools.
USI Athletics and Varsity Club received $8,000 and the Boys and Girls Club received $5,000. About a dozen other programs also received donations.
