Paul's Menswear celebrating 50th anniversary | Business
A west side business is celebrating 50 years on Franklin Street.
Paul’s Menswear, a family owned, independent, men’s clothing store, was born in September of 1963 when Paul and Ruby Eickhoff purchased Abel & Wesselman Men’s Clothing Store located at 2103 West Franklin. The name of the store was changed to Paul’s Menswear and started operation at that location offering the basics of jeans, brown and black dress pants, and white shirts.
In 1980, the store was moved to the 2200 block of Franklin, which is the present location of Thomas Shoes. With the addition of new men’s fashions and clothing lines, and the need for more space, Paul’s constructed their present store on an empty lot next door at 2225 West Franklin in 1990.
Steve, John, and Shawn Eickhoff took over the business from Paul and Ruby Eickhoff in the late 1980’s. Brian Eickhoff, son of Steve and Shawn, joined the store in 2005.
