Group hopes to set Guinness guitar record | Arts & Culture
A group of area musicians is hoping to recruit enough musicians to break a Guinness record for the most guitar players ever assembled at one time playing a single tune.
The event’s organizer and owner of Lamasco Bar & Grill, Amy Word, has gotten a committee together via Facebook.
Guitar players and those who play similar instruments are invited to West Library lawn Saturday where they’ll begin tuning and then play Joe Cocker’s ‘Feelin’ Alright’.
It’s a tall task. The world record for such a gathering is 6,346 set in Poland in 2009. The American record is over 1,000 players.
There’s an instructional video that tells more about the event and shows how to play the song linked above.
