Reitz student wins 8th District Congressional Art competition | Arts & Culture
A Reitz student has won the local Congressional Art Competition, an annual event held by Rep. Larry Bucshon.
The winner is Patrick Kercher and his piece entitled “Shady Thoughts.”
Patrick’s artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for an entire year and he will also receive two free roundtrip tickets to Washington, DC from Southwest Airlines, a gift card for the Marriott Hotel chains, tour of the Capitol, and an invitation to the Congressional awards ceremony.
Winning art from students around the nation, including Patrick's work, will be on display at the Capitol.
His entry was selected by an expert panel from the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana.
Rep. Bucshon’s office received 18 art submissions from across the 8th District. Photos of the artwork are displayed on Bucshon’s Official Facebook Page.
